Flash Appointment Info

Seasonal Considerations

It’s important to keep your tattoo clean, protected from sun exposure, and to avoid swimming/prolonged water submersion during healing. I cannot tattoo sunburned skin, so take care to wear sunscreen leading up to your appointment.

How do flash appointments work?

A design is chosen the day of the appointment from my book of flash, which is filled with designs reflective of my portfolio. The designs vary in size, with the majority of them being around palm-sized. Each design may be repeated multiple times, although I do frequently add and retire designs.

I cannot do custom drawing or modifications to designs at flash appointments. It's a rare occurrence, but if you don't find anything you love, we may be able to book a custom appointment in the future. In this case, the deposit is forfeited as it reserves my time.

My book of designs is not available online, but you can find previews in the Designs highlight on my Instagram profile or stop by Icon Tattoo to view my books in person on Friday or Saturday, 11-6.

Pricing

All flash designs are labeled in my book and priced by the piece at a flat rate ranging from $300-800, with the exception of some large-scale designs which require multiple sessions.

My session minimum for flash is $300.

Your deposit is deducted from your total.

For general reference; a 3x4" tattoo could take from 1.5-3 hours. A 4x6" tattoo could take around 3-5 hours. Larger scale projects are more difficult to estimate and require more budget flexibility.

Payment

Payment is cash only at Icon Tattoo. Cash is strongly preferred, but in some cases I may be able to accept a partial payment via Venmo or Square card reader, with a 3% service fee applied to your total.

Session Lengths

  • Sessions are a fixed length of 3.5 hours. This includes up to 3 hours tattooing and 30 minutes prep/breaks/wrapping up.  Tip: It’s a good idea to arrive 10-15 minutes early to give yourself ample time to look through my book!

  • If a tattoo cannot be completed in 3 hours, it will require another session. This is a strict boundary meant to maintain both our well-being and the quality of my work.

  • If it is important to you to complete a piece in one sitting, I suggest choosing a design palm-sized or smaller or get in touch about booking a special full-day session.

Placement

  • Placement is currently limited to arms and legs.

  • For flash, it’s important to be flexible on placement. Not all designs suit all placements well. If you have a very specific placement/gap you’d like to fill, I suggest requesting a custom appointment so I can draw to suit.

Coverups

  • If you’re interested in a flash appointment for a coverup, a consultation is required before booking. Please e-mail for availability.

Reschedules and Deposits

If something comes up and you need to reschedule or cancel, please give as much notice as possible. Your deposit reserves my time for your appointment. With more than 72 hours notice, we can reschedule and transfer your deposit to a new appointment. With less than 72 hours notice or more than 2 reschedules, a new deposit is required.

If you are more than 20 minutes late for your appointment, we’ll have to reschedule with a new deposit.
